Dr. Bickle created the BALM from a desire to do better for our planet and it's inhabits - humans and animals alike. Her love for animals pushed her to become vegan, and her desire to protect this beautiful planet we live on has led her to seek out environmentally friendly options for as many products that she uses in her daily life as possible. When asking a friend and well known environmental activist how we can best help animals and the planet, their answer was to focus on what you know, and for her that meant the skin. So she decided to start with the most commonly used skin care product, white petrolatum, and make an alternative that was better for the humans using it as well as better for the earth and the animals living on it. And thus the BALM was born.
